Broker Kristian Gaudet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<strong>Current Investigation:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.investorlawyers.com\">Shepherd, Smith, Edwards &amp; Kantas, LLP<\/a> (\u201cSSEK Law Firm\u201d) is currently investigating claims on behalf of former clients of Kristian &#8220;Kris&#8221; Gaudet (\u201cGaudet\u201d) of Cut Off, Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2019, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.finra.org\/\">Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (\u201cFINRA\u201d)<\/a> barred Gaudet from association with any FINRA member.\u00a0 The result of such a bar is that FINRA has effectively kicked Gaudet out of the brokerage business permanently.\u00a0 Kristian Guadet was most recently associated with Ameritas Investment Corp. (\u201cAmeritas\u201d), and had worked for Ameritas\u2019 brokerage firm and insurance arm since 2003.\u00a0 Prior to Ameritas, Mr. Gaudet worked for The Advisors Group and Princor Financial Services.\u00a0 In November 2018, FINRA opened an investigation of Mr. Gaudet based on \u201csuspicions that Mr. Gaudet was involved in fraudulent activities.\u201d\u00a0 Then, only a few weeks later, on December 10, 2018, Ameritas terminated Mr. Gaudet based on allegations from clients that Mr. Gaudet was \u201cusing client funds for personal use.\u201d\u00a0 Even after the termination from Ameritas, FINRA continued with its investigation.\u00a0 Rather than defend the allegations, Gaudet refused to appear or provide any on-the-record testimony, instead consenting to a permanent bar from the securities industry.<\/p>\n<p>While it is unusual for brokers to find ways to steal client funds or otherwise use client funds as their own, it sadly does still happen.\u00a0 More importantly, our firm\u2019s experience is that long before a broker starts taking client funds directly, that broker does many other less obvious things to hurt his\/her clients while trying to profit from those same clients.\u00a0 The act of theft is typically the last in a series of wrongdoing that often goes undetected for years from customers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"read_more_link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.investorlawyers.com\/blog\/recover-losses-from-investing-with-former-ameritas-investment-corp-broker-kristian-gaudet\/\"  title=\"Continue Reading Recover Losses From Investing With Former Ameritas Investment Corp.
