What Is the Easterly ROCMuni High Income Fund?
The Easterly Fund was marketed as a municipal bond that purportedly invests at least 80% of its net assets in tax-exempt debt securities. While most municipal bond funds are relatively safe, the Easterly Fund was quite different and very risky.
For example, most of its securities are poorly rated, below investment grade bonds commonly referred to as “junk bonds.” Moreover, the majority of the bonds in the Easterly Fund were not backed by any municipality, like a state or local government, but rather they were bonds issued by small companies for often speculative projects.
The Easterly Fund has been falling in value since last year. However, its largest drop happened in June 2025 when it declined by 30% on June 13. This was because of the fire sale that started on that day. Afterwards, through June 17, the Fund fell by over 50%.
The Easterly Fund went from having over $200 million in assets at the end of March 2025 to under $17 million in assets more recently. Share price dipped from more than $6.00/share to under $3.00/share.
Stifel is one of the broker-dealers that marketed and sold the Easterly Fund to Kentucky investors. Already, we are representing a number of clients against this broker-dealer over these bond fund losses. Unsuitable investment recommendations, misrepresentations, and omissions of the risks, concentration, negligence, and due diligence failures are just some of the legal claims being asserted in the FINRA arbitration claims of our clients.
How Can Our Easterly ROCMuni High Income Fund Lawyers Help?
During your free case consultation—in person in Paducah or over the phone—we can help you determine whether you have grounds for suing Stifel broker or another brokerage firm if you purchased the investment from someone else.
If you should file a claim—and we decide to work together— Shepherd Smith Edwards & Kantas would conduct a thorough investigation into your losses, file a solid investment loss recovery case in FINRA arbitration, and provide you with robust securities representation during all proceedings.
This is not the kind of legal claim you want to make without trusted securities lawyers representing you. More than 90% of investors we have worked with have obtained full or partial financial recovery in the form of an award or settlement.
You Will Only Ever Pay Us If We Recover Damages For You
Because we work on a contingency basis, you will only pay for our securities law services if we win an award or secure a settlement for you. Any payments would come from the award or settlement and never out of your own pocket.
