Texas Couple Sues Rockefeller Financial Over Virage (VRF) and Other Alternative Investment Losses. Our Broker Fraud Lawyers Are Representing These Retirees, Who Are Seeking Up To $1M in Damages.

If you are an investor who suffered losses in Virage (VRF), LP, Shepherd Smith Edward, and Kantas Broker Fraud Lawyers (investorlawyers.com) want to talk to you. We recently filed a FINRA lawsuit on behalf of two Texas seniors who are suing Rockefeller Financial for losses they sustained in this limited partnership, as well as in structured notes and other privately traded products that were completely unsuitable for them and not in their best interests. Now, our clients are requesting up to $1M in damages.

The older couple entrusted Rockefeller Financial with their life savings. In their FINRA arbitration case, they contend that then-Rockefeller Financial broker David Frankfort (also known as Samuel David Frankfort) promised to make sound recommendations that were not risky, per their request.

Instead, the broker-dealer appears to have concentrated the investors’ accounts with illiquid, obscure products, including Virage (VRF), a limited partnership that invests in the speculative field of litigation financing.

Virage was heavily invested in a startup company in the healthcare data recovery field. Not only that, but the broker-dealer used margin in these retirees’ accounts, which only increased the risks.

Our clients are inexperienced investors who could only take their broker-dealer and its registered representative at their word. Now, they are alleging unsuitability, lack of supervision, misrepresentation and omissions, breach of fiduciary duty, and more.

Samuel Frankfort, who was in the brokerage industry for 23 years, continues to be a Houston registered investment adviser with Corient.

Representing Texas Investors and Other US Investors Who Suffered Losses in Virage or iCapital VRF

Shepherd Smith Edwards and Kantas Broker Fraud Lawyers are speaking with investors who may have sustained losses in Virage or iCapital VRF. Rockefeller Financial partnered with feeder fund iCapital, which is managed by iCapital Advisors, LLC. iCapital VRF invested in Virage Capital Management, LP, which was invested in MSP Recovery  (formerly D/B/A LifeWallet).

MSP Recovery (MSRP), a healthcare and analytics company, has seen a serious stock drop. This may have impacted not just MSP Recovery Investors, but also investors that got involved indirectly through iCapital VRF.

Our alternative investment loss attorneys can help you assess whether you have grounds for pursuing damages from your broker-dealer over your Virage or iCapital VRF losses. In Texas, you can contact our Houston securities law office or our Dallas securities law office.

If we determine that you can and should sue Rockefeller Financial or another broker-dealer—and we decide to work together—we will conduct a thorough investigation into your losses and file a FINRA lawsuit on your behalf. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration is where disputes between brokers and their customers are resolved.
